A provocative, emotion-packed drama about race relations in an all-white suburban community, this play depicts the confrontation between upper-class well-to-do white sisters, Liz and Mary, who prepare for a visit to their home from prospective buyers, and also well-to-do, black mother and daughter, Jayla and Vicky, from Harlem.
They are planning to buy the sisters’ expensive suburban home to get Vicky’s children a better education. In negotiating the sale, all four parties learn a little more about each other and a lot more about their own latent prejudices.
The play is an adaptation from Neighbors by Arkady Loekum.
